We are delighted to announce that Edinburgh-based technology specialist Liftango has appointed Jason McGibbon as its Chair following a search process led by Carlyle Associates. Jason brings more than 20 years’ of investment experience, having spent most of his career as a Partner at global private equity firm Bridgepoint, where he led their private equity consumer investment team across multiple geographies in Europe and North America.
Since leaving Bridgepoint, Jason now holds a portfolio of NED and Chair positions with a focus on high-growth scale-up businesses in the consumer and technology sectors.
His significant expertise in business strategy, scale-up, and international expansion, means Liftango is well-positioned to achieve its next phase of growth as it deploys its demand-responsive technology solution in new markets and increases its presence in established locations.
Liftango powers some of the most successful on-demand shared transport systems across the world, operating in 21 countries to date. They work with many Fortune 500 companies, large global bus operators, and many government transport agencies.
Liftango’s platform helps provide vital access for citizens to more public transport services and further promote more sustainable transport options, while also helping organisations to achieve their scope 3 CO2 reduction goals.
Since Maven first backed the business in December 2021, Liftango has achieved notable commercial traction, helping transport operators across the globe modernise services to improve efficiencies.
